Artist's Description
The Circus Drive-In restaurant was located on Route 35 in Wall Township, New Jersey. Family dinners at reasonable prices were delivered to car windows since it opened in 1954. The smiling neon clown sign has served as a welcoming beacon since the restaurant opened. Unfortunately, the building and property was sold in 2018 and the new owners do not intend to keep it open as a restaurant. However, at the current time, it appears that the roadside clown sign will remain as a symbol of this iconic establishment.
About Gary Slawsky
For the past thirty years I have been exploring the many ways photography can be creatively used to record the beauty and interesting qualities of our world. Macro and landscape constitute the largest bodies of my work. Most of all I enjoy bringing out unique interpretations of common objects and scenes that might be missed by casual observation.
